Periphery is a metal band from Bethesda, Maryland. The 6-piece band consists of 3 guitarists, 1 drummer, 1 bassist, and 1 vocalist. I have been listening to Periphery for a while, counting down the days until their debut album is released on April 20th 2010. I started out listening to a handful of instrumental tracks from their guitarist, Bulb. They have the most unique and cutting edge tonality and polyrhythms in the metal genre. Check these guys out and let me know what you think!

In 1998, Sergey Brin and Larry Page dropped out of graduate school at Stanford University to create a search engine that would organize every bit of information on the Web instantly and for free. Despite their lack of believers and followers, the two boys started their own company originally called, “Googol” meaning, the large number 10 100 that is the digit 1 followed by one hundred zeros in decimal representation. Little did they know, Google as it is today helps an estimated 300 million people from all over the globe.

Google has grown enormously over the past ten years and has now become the number one search engine on the web. However, Google is more than just a search engine. Here are some of Google’s other products:

  • Alerts – Get email updates on the topics of your choice
  • Blog Search – Find blogs on your favorite topics
  • Books – Search the full text of books
  • Checkout – Complete online purchases more quickly and securely
  • Google Chrome – A browser built for speed, stability and security
  • Custom Search – Create a customized search experience for your community
  • Desktop – Search and personalize your computer
  • Dictionary – Search for definitions of words and phrases
  • Directory – Search the web, organized by topic or category
  • Earth – Explore the world from your computer
  • Finance – Business info, news and interactive charts
  • GOOG-411 – Find and connect for free with businesses from your phone
  • Google Health – Organize your medical records online
  • iGoogle – Add news, games and more to your Google homepage
  • Images – Search for images on the web
  • Maps – View maps and directions
  • News – Search thousands of news stories
  • Patent Search – Search the full text of US Patents
  • Product Search – Search for stuff to buy
  • Scholar – Search scholarly papers
  • Toolbar – Add a search box to your browser
  • Trends – Explore past and present search trends
  • Videos – Search for videos on the web
  • Web Search – Search billions of web pages
  • Web Search Features – Find movies, music, stocks, books and more

From having it’s own internet browser (Google Chrome) to innovating a real-time email system (Google Wave) Google now has all the answers.

Premonitions is five musicians who enjoy creating works of art. As of now, our album is being composed and we will be in the studio shortly. We are currently thinking of new and creative ways to connect with our fans and give them a reason to buy using the Cwf + RtB = $$$ model. Feel free to check out our MySpace, Facebook, and/or Twitter accounts to find out when our music will be available.
